Montana Continuing Legal Education

Learn more about specific requirements for newly licensed attorneys in Montana. PLI and SEC Institute`s on-demand programs, MP3 and MP4, are considered “self-pacing” credits. Lawyers are limited to 5 self-study credits per reporting period. Check out Montana-approved continuing education self-study programs. Montana Supreme Court Continuing Education Requirements: The Montana Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education requires attorneys to earn 15 credits, including 2 credits for professionalism or ethics, by March 31 of each year. All credits must be declared by May 15. Lawyers must earn at least 10 credits through “live” programs. Lawyers are limited to 5 self-study credits per reporting period. A maximum of 30 Live credits can be carried over to the next reporting period.

Meet your Montana needs with PLI: Live seminars, live webcasts, and locations co-sponsored by PLI and SEC Institute are considered “live” credits. There is no limit to the number of credits a lawyer can earn through live programs. Watch live CLE approved programs in Montana. PLI is an accredited sponsor of the Montana Continuing Legal Education Commission. Providers are required to submit applications for each program.
